We have courses available for all levels of coach, from new coaches to those hoping to expand their skills and knowledge. Click the headings below to learn more about our course offers
First Push
First Push is aimed at young skaters, skatepark volunteers, and aspiring coaches aged 15 - 17.
First Push provides the learner with essential foundational coaching knowledge, enabling learners to support skateboard coaching sessions in their organisation alongside an experienced skateboard coach. You'll learn:
How to plan sessions
How to ensure safety in skateboarding sessions
How to coach basic skateboarding techniques
The role and responsibilities of a supporting skateboard coach
Get Rolling
Get Rolling is the accredited Skateboard GB coaching course.
The qualification will provide learners with the necessary knowledge to deliver skateboard sessions independently in community or skatepark settings. The course focuses on participation rather than performance, with the aim of getting more and more young people on skateboards, and involved in a healthier and more active lifestyle.
Successful learners will receive a year of free Skateboard GB Membership and insurance
Coaching Skills
Coaching Skills is the next step for coaches who are looking to develop their skills and knowledge. Participants must have completed Get Rolling, and completed at least 100 hours of coaching. Throughout this course you will:
Increase the flexibility and adaptability of your practice
Enhance depth of understanding of skateboard coaching and how people learn
Learn how to coach for a range of different learning outcomes
Develop your skills in managing and differentiating learners

CPD Courses
We have a number of CPD courses to help you continue your learning journey. From Safeguarding to SEND/Neurodiversity training, we have a range of skateboard-specific training to help you engage your skate community.
Skateboard GB Introduction to Safeguarding
Safeguarding is essential when working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults.
In this course, we'll provide you with all the necessary knowledge you'll need to effectively safeguard participants in your skateboarding sessions.
SEND/Neurodiversity Training
Learn how to create a SEND/Neurodiversity-friendly environment and learning experience for your skaters.
Skateboarding is for everyone, and in this course we'll teach you how to adapt sessions to ensure you can engage all participants in your session.
